All kitchen remodels start with a problem. Maybe the problem is you don’t like meat-inspired granite countertops and your kitchen has them. Maybe it’s that your kitchen doesn’t utilize the existing space well, and you can think of a way you wish it were laid out. Or maybe there is all this space right around your kitchen and you wish it could be adopted by your kitchen into one bigger kitchen. Whatever the problem is, that’s the starting place for a luxury kitchen remodel.
Why Luxury?
Luxury can mean a lot of different things. First, it means really high-end with lots of fancy stuff in it. But it can also mean things that are luxury to you. A luxury is something that feels special and extravagant, even if it really isn’t. For example, a clear countertop can feel like a luxury if you’re used to having a cluttered one. If this is you, then solving the clutter problem so you can have the luxury of a clear countertop is a pretty big deal. Other luxuries include choosing high-quality finishes, like nice cabinet pulls versus the cheap ones that don’t feel good in your hand. Whether luxury means ridiculously expensive or just plain special to you, creating a luxury space means you’ll have things about that you’ll enjoy every time you’re in the space.
Solving the Problem
Taking stock of what you really wish your kitchen had or what you wish it didn’t have is a good place to start. If the layout is terrible, we troubleshoot the problems and propose one or more solutions. Some spaces have one obviously-best solution, and others have several solutions that all could work. The one we ultimately choose depends on how invasive you want your kitchen renovation to be. If you’re leaving town for a few months, then the sky’s the limit. If you’re not, we may try to minimize the pain and suffering by choosing a layout that doesn’t require your entire floor to be refinished. Either way, the best way to solve the problem involves weighing the options and considering your budget, construction tolerance, lifestyle, and your hopes and dreams for your new kitchen.
Choosing Luxury Materials
The materials that we select for your kitchen are going to be in your life every day. Because of this, it’s important to choose items that you love, that fit your lifestyle, and that are going to look good for a long time. Quality materials cost more than builder-grade ones but are essential to a long-lasting kitchen. Your kitchen is ultimately an investment in yourself and your family. You want it to be fun to be in. It’s the backdrop of your candid family photos and in the memories of your kids and grandkids.
